The cable runs from the key switch to the disconnect arm on the gate or garage door opener. Consult a manual you can probably google the one for yours if you can t find it to figure out the proper placement of this item on your garage door. The garage door should reverse and move back to the open position. A keyed external disconnect switch that will allow access to any compatible opener during a power failure.

To attach it to your door and arm you ll need three screws the arm itself and the small horizontal bar that goes through the middle. If it doesn t you will need to check the wire connections sensor alignment and clean the sensor lenses.
